A good solid piece of furniture like a white chest of drawers should survive around your home for a very long time; if you have purchased properly first time around. If you are looking for something that is value for money then a good solid wood piece of furniture is a must. If you buy cheap and cheerful, you will probably buy twice, as the saying goes.
If something is well made and functional then you will use it for years to come. Something that follows a design fad is great if you intend to completely remodel your interior often but most people like to have something that is cost efficient but still a quality product.
